Biculturality
A native of the United Kingdom, I have lived and worked in France for over 25 years. Immersion in French culture and daily use of the French language have given me a deep understanding of the French language and way of life and the ability to translate accurately into my mother tongue.
Legal knowledge
With university qualifications in French law and comparative law, and extensive work experience in the legal sector, I am familiar with French legal terminology, as well as with legal instruments, practices and procedures relating to international trade, investment and dispute resolution.
Literary skills
Translation is as much an art as it is a science, requiring drafting skills as well as precision. Schooled in literature, I pay great attention to quality of expression and the choice and use of words. My aim is to produce a translation that reads well while remaining semantically and stylistically faithful to the original.
Proofreading
As a trained and experienced proofreader, I bring to my translations the same attention to detail as when I am proofreading. Double-checking with the eye of a proofreader helps to ensure that the translation is correctly formatted and free of errors and inconsistencies.
